As far as I can tell, there hasn't been many products that can both improve the sound if cymbals as well as making them more durable. We drummers have pretty much had to deal with sticking a metal pie on a metal stand and bashing away. Cympads help focus the sound of the cymbal by trimming away some of the brashiness and making them more musical. I also used to break slot of cymbals and since i've been using cympads, i've broken one cymbal on a four month tour.

"Since end of August 2007 I'm utilizing various Cympad products in the recording studio as well as during rehearsal. Especially in the recording studio I was able to achieve excellent sound results within the sustain and overtone balance of my cymbals.
In the rehearsal room, especially for those of you that have smaller ones, with the cympads you are able to protect the "wear and tear" of the entire band's ear drums without compromising sound quality at all.
I highly recommend for you to check it out!"

"J'ai essayé les Cympads sur beaucoup de configurations et de cymbales différentes... le résultat est étonnant!! En live dans des clubs ou des petites salles, je peux garder toute l'intention dans la frappe sans que les cymbales prennent le dessus au niveau du volume. Un régal pour moi même, pour les musiciens autour de moi... ainsi que le public!! J'apprécie particulièrement les diamètres 80 et 70mm pour les petites salles: je les utilise sur mes crash Zildjian A Custom. Mes cymbales gardent leur brillance et sont parfaitement mixées au son de mon kit quand je joue aux fagots! Je diminue les diamètres lorsque je joue aux baguettes. Le diamètre 90mm est parfait pour la cymbale ride: il permet de "retenir" le son du dôme qui avait tendance à prendre le dessus! Je l'utilise également sur des crash de grands diamètres ce qui permet d'obtenir un son "moelleux"! Idéal pour le Pop-rock!! Le résultat est également magique en studio! Grâce aux différents diamètres des cympads, j'ai la possibilité de gérer entièrement le son de mes cymbales pour obtenir une homogénéité parfaite et ainsi utiliser de grandes cymbales même pour des titres "acoustiques"!! Pour résumer: En club on peut garder l'intention dans la frappe sans que les cymbales ne deviennent assourdissantes!!!

"Au départ, j'étais sceptique...Certaines personnes me vantaient les mérites de Cympad, mais je ne pensais pas qu'ils avaient raison à ce point!!
Une fois la boîte reçue, je l'emmène avec moi sur la route pour un weekend de concerts. Je teste le 90mm sur mes crashs Sabian AAX Stage (16") et AAX Metal (18") qui sont les plus "génantes"; je rajoute un petit 50 mm sur la 18" car elle est assez aggressive et là, c'est le bluff complet. Mes collègues musiciens me font la remarque : "Waouaw c'est vraiment pas aggressif avec ça..", j'écoute, je teste, je me fais mon idée et effectivement la clareté ainsi que le côté scintillant des cymbales crashs ne sont pas altérés. Un vrai bonheur de pouvoir tabasser ses cymbales en caf conc, en club voire même dans des bars tout simples. Avant j'étais obligé de prendre des mouchoirs, de les gaffer symétriquement sous les cymbales, maintenant c'est de l'histoire ancienne.
Cympad c'est enfin une marque qui pense à ceux qui galèrent dans les clubs, caf conc....à ceux qui sont frustrés d'être sans arrêt obligés de freiner leur intensité, de gérer leur frappe dans l'optique de servir la qualité sonore (ce qui est mon cas). Ca fait plaisir!!Enfin!!"

"CYMPAD really works great... although I play Bosphorus Cymbals, which I think are the best sounding cymbals on the market, the CYMPAD really made them even more personal!
The big pads will muffle my cymbals perfect (without tape damaging the metal - leaving ugly marks). It seems like I can "fine-tune" and make alredy great sounding cymbals sound even better without "killing them"!

"J'ai pu tester le Cympad et quelle efficacité si on joue en club ou en répétition ! Il est en plus redoutable en studio lorsque la room est difficile surtout pour la ride qui a tendance quelquefois à s'emballer. Très intéressant aussi pour limiter un dôme qui perce trop dans un mix."

"Hey, checkt das aus! Wieso ist nicht schon lang jemand darauf gekommen? - Einfach genial & genial einfach: Die Cympads! Seit kurzem verwende ich diese Teile und bin wirklich begeistert. Sie sind nicht nur ein praktisches Tool im Unterrricht (vor allem bei Gruppen ;-), sondern auch bei kleineren Gigs und unplugged-Gigs hilfreich. Mich laden sie auch zum Experimentieren ein, um Cymbalsounds einfach so zu "modifizieren". Ganz nebenbei sehen die "Cym-Washers" dann auch noch ganz gut aus. Vielen Dank an Reto Hirschi von Cympad"

"Pour en avoir essayé au Shop, j'ai été conquis. Un peu sur la défensive quand le commercial m'a présenté ce produit sorti de derrière les fagots, on se de dit "c'est quoi encore cette invention à la c... ?" et puis après avoir glissé une galette sous une cymbale on se rend bien compte de l'efficacité. Pour ce qui est des "Cympad washer" qui remplacent les feutres, je ne jure que par ça pour mon utilisation perso. J'ai vraiment envie de suivre ce produit au catalogue du Yéti ! Je pense que d'ici qq années on considèrera le Cympad comme un standard. N'hésitez pas à les tester, sans préjugés, histoire de vous faire une idée de l'utilité.
